Tour Description

it is not only nature that makes Kastamonu special. The memory of Şerife Bacı speaks to a history forged in sacrifice and patriotism. The spirit of the "Road of Independence" (İstiklal Yolu)—stretching from Inebolu to Kastamonu—lives on in the city's collective memory. Kastamonu’s cuisine represents the most delicious aspect of this cultural richness. Dishes and products such as *banduma*, *simit tiridi*, Taşköprü garlic, Kastamonu *pastırma* (cured beef), and *Üryani* plums are not merely food; they embody a way of life passed down through generations. Each reflects the labor, the land, the craftsmanship, and the local heritage. Blending music, rhythm, costumes, and dance, this tradition stands as a vital part of the city’s living cultural heritage. Kastamonu is a story of a land—majestic in its canyons, tranquil in its bays, bountiful in its cuisine, dignified in its history, and vibrant in its culture.
