Tour Description

We have prepared a full but leisurely program for Eskişehir, the Venice of Turkey, a city that hosted the founding phase of the Ottoman Empire, is on the list of the top ten safest cities in the world, and whose beauty and productivity have been shaped by the Porsuk River flowing through its center throughout history, playing an important role in the enrichment of the region along the "Phrygian Valley". We invite you to this ancient city, a legacy of our ancestors, which contains European-style snapshots such as the Ottoman heritage Kurşunlu Mosque, Odunpazarı Houses, Wax Museum, Odunpazarı Modern Museum, the Porsuk River, a gondola ride on the Porsuk River, and the Sazova Dream Castle, to an unforgettable fairytale land.

Day 1, Day 1

We arrive in Eskişehir around noon, a city that was awarded the title of Cultural Capital of the Turkic World and Capital of Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2013. Eskişehir, which held a very important place during the Phrygian period and is known as the city of firsts in Anatolia, is where we first visit the Aviation Park, where warplanes dating back to the National Struggle period are exhibited. Afterwards, we proceed to a restaurant for lunch where we want to offer you regional delicacies from Crimean culture. Following lunch, we go to Kent Park, where, with the explanations of our guide, we explore the first and only artificial beach in Turkey, which will make you feel like you are on the Mediterranean coast. After spending pleasant moments here, our tour continues with the Haller Youth Center, which has a different atmosphere that will make you feel like you are in Cottage Garden in London. After some free time here, we head towards Köprübaşı, known as the heart of Eskişehir. Upon arrival, we are greeted by the Porsuk River, the longest tributary of the Sakarya River, which, thanks to the alluvium it carries, has enabled the fertile plains of Eskişehir and its surroundings, and which separates the two central districts. We enjoy free time along the banks of the Porsuk River, a breathtaking view that makes us feel like we are in Venice (weather permitting and seasonally suitable for water conditions). During this free time, guests who wish can participate in a boat tour. Our tour continues with a visit to Tülomsaş to see the Devrim Car, Türkiye's first domestically produced automobile, whose parts were all manufactured and assembled by Turkish engineers in Anatolia within a specific timeframe. After reminiscing about the old days with our guide's explanations, we arrive at our final destination of the day: Waterfall Park, the highest point in Eskişehir, to relax, enjoy coffee, take photos, and spend pleasant moments while admiring the beautiful scenery. After a pleasant walk, we leave Waterfall Park, concluding the first day of our tour here and heading to our hotels to rest. Accommodation is at our hotel. If you'd like to go out after dinner, we recommend visiting the Bar Street, enjoying a pleasant stroll along Doctors Street (which is often compared to Istanbul's Istiklal Street), and having a drink at one of the lively venues along the Porsuk River. Accommodation is at our hotel.

Day 2, Day 2

25 May 2025, 04:45 AM

Today's Sightseeing Points: Sazova Science and Culture Park - Wax Museum - Glass Arts Museum - Odunpazarı Houses - Kurşunlu Complex - Meerschaum Museum - Fairy Tale Castle - Met Halva After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit the Kurşunlu Complex, built by Architect Acem Ali (preceding Architect Sinan), which forms the heart of Odunpazarı, and its important structures. With explanations from our guide, we will also visit the Meerschaum Museum, located within the complex, which was known as Eskişehir's "White Gold" in the 17th century. We will take a short break to taste the region's unique Met Halva. To see the historic Odunpazarı Houses, a symbol of the Odunpazarı district and home to 18th-century residential architecture, we'll begin our tour by visiting Beyler Street, Arif Bey Street, Işıklar Street, and Koca Müftü Street, where restorations were recently completed. While strolling through these beautiful streets, you can shop for handcrafted meerschaum and glass art, creating an opportunity to buy gifts for your loved ones. Our museum tour begins with a visit to the Yılmaz Büyükerşen Wax Sculpture Museum and the Contemporary Glass Art Museum, both unique in Turkey, showcasing two beautiful branches of fine arts, each requiring significant craftsmanship and time. Afterwards, we head to the Atlıhan Handicrafts Bazaar, where vendors from surrounding villages used to stay with their horses during Odunpazarı's early days, offering both a coffee break and some shopping opportunities for those who wish. Following some free time here, we conclude our Odunpazarı tour and head out for lunch. After lunch, our tour continues with a visit to Sazova Science and Culture Park, the largest park in Eskişehir. You can spend your free time within the park's boundaries as you wish. The Fairy Tale Castle, which will make you feel like you're in Disneyland, will leave you amazed. You can see Noah's Ark and visit the Pirate Ship, a life-size replica of the My Flower, the pirate ship that first crossed the Atlantic Ocean in the 17th century. During their free time in the park, guests can also wait at the train stations and take a 15-minute panoramic tour (free of charge) on the German-made Decovel (nostalgic train). Additionally, you can visit the Turkish World Masterpieces Park (Mini City), the Underwater World, and the zoo. (Entrance fees to all sections you wish to visit within the Sazova Science and Culture Park boundaries are extra.) After spending unforgettable moments here, we will complete our Eskişehir tour program and, after breaks along the way, we will arrive in Istanbul and say goodbye to our valued guests until we meet again on another tour.
